Condolences to the Family of Betty Hoback
Betty Jane Hoback was born March 26, 1924 in Union, the daughter of John William and Grace Elizabeth (Montgomery) Everett. She married Kenneth Miller Hoback October 18, 1941 in Rock Port, MO. Betty lived in Union her entire life until moving to Nebraska City last May. She was a homemaker and worked part time at Union Orchard. Betty loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, fishing, flowers and knitting. She was and avid sports fan. Kenneth and Betty always attended sports events involving children and grandchildren whenever possible. Betty was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Nebraska City, Unionettes and she served on the Union Park Committee. Survivors include her husband Kenneth of Nebraska City; children, Linda Tucker and her husband David of Chattanooga, TN; Dianne Schmitz and her husband Nicholas; Richard Hoback and his wife Mitzi; Roger Hoback and his wife Karen, all of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Nick and Lisa Schmitz, Heather and Rob Popish, Carrie and Ted Hill, Kyle Hoback, Brady Hoback and Colby Hoback; great grandchildren, Sydney Schmitz, Kendyl Schmitz, Aiden Popish, Tucker Popish and Cooper Popish; brother, Dale Everett and his wife Cindy of Union; sisters, Mildred Allen and her husband Cliff of Nebraska City; Louise Harpole and her husband Darrel of Ralston; Georgene Peeler and her husband Don of Hamburg, IA; sisters in law, Opal Everett of Union; Evelyn Hoback of Plattsmouth and Mary Ellen Everett of Papillion; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Everett and Marshall Everett; sister, Patricia Marunda and great grandson, Jaxson Popish. Betty died March 5, 2011 at Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 9 days.
