Yes Union!
A new website . . . a new weekly online newsletter . . . what else can we anticipate for Union? A website & newsletter for Union is a great way to promote our community. Not only will residents and neighbors have the opportunity find out about community events, but business and individuals will have an opportunity to adverstise, promote, and share. Let us work together and use this site as a way to celebrate our joys and shed light on our concerns as a community. Do you want to get the word out about an event? Do you know of an accomplishment that deserves recognition? Even Birthdays and Anniversaries can be announced in the newsletter to spread the celebration. Don't Forget About the Village Board Meeting! December 9th at 7:00 p.m.
While the new Union website and newsletter provide valuable community information, attending a Village Board meeting is the BEST way to learn about what is going on in the Village. More importantly, it is vital that members of the community participate in the Union’s governance. Decisions that affect you and your community are not being made behind closed doors . . . they are being made out in the open at these meetings that everyone is invited and welcome to attend. Attending meetings also provides you with an opportunity to voice your opinions and offer suggestions on current Village issues. Do you have suggestions about village maintenance, fire and rescue services, parks or other needed improvements? Please attend the Village Board meetings that are held the second Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Hall (Main & 1st St.)
Here Comes Santa!
Keeping with tradition, the Park Board is again sponsoring the annual visit from Santa on December 19th 2:00 p.m.—4:00 p.m.! More details coming soon!
The Park Board would also like to thank all the parents and volunteers that made the Halloween party a huge sucess. These events could not happen without community member support!
Adopt-A-Cat
Open up your hearts and homes this holiday season and adopt a healthy, vaccinated and spayed/nuetered cat! Five abandoned Union cats will need a place to come home to after receiving medical attention from Hearts United for Animals on January1st, 2010! It is completely free to adopt, and these cats would make great companion animals - not to mention you would be saving them from the harsh elements and lack of food this winter. Please email
