PARK COMMITTEE SCHEDULE:
The Park Committee met February 24th to set the schedule for the upcoming year. They are still looking for volunteers to assist with the flowerbeds and boxes, manning the concession stand during ballgames, & the community picnic. If you have some spare time or one of your children have to do community service for school, this is a great way to do it! Their schedule is as follows:
Meetings: March 30, April 27, May 25, June 29, July 29, August 31, September 28, October 26, & November 30. The meetings are held at the fire station at 7:00 pm. Other activities are making items for the Easter Egg Hunt, Village-wide garage sales & bake sale on June 19 (rain date June 26), Community picnic & auction August 28, “Here Comes Santa” on December 4 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS: If you received a letter about vehicles that are in different stages of decay or they are unlicensed, you will receive one more warning before the village takes action. Save yourself & the village a lot of trouble by informing the board members of your intentions. If the vehicles are not removed, the village will have them removed at your expense. Also, if the board has received complaints about the condition of your property, you will be notified and given a timeframe to get things cleaned up. There are several people in town that have offered to help, just contact a board member or the village clerk and we will get you in touch with each other. We need to start taking more pride in the village and start making a better impression to the public. Everyone will be treated equally so don’t think you are being “picked on”.
DOG OWNERS: It’s time to get your dogs on their heartworm preventative & make sure their shots are up to date. And you may want to consider flea/tick preventative as well. It protects your dogs from several diseases that are spread by fleas & ticks. And while you’re at it, get them licensed! There have been several dogs that were not tagged and we couldn’t find their owner so they ended up going to another home. Don’t lose a member of your family because you don’t want to spend $5.00.
