STORM CLEANUP CONTINUES:
We are still cleaning up & finding more damage associated with the storms that hit us May 22nd & 24th. So far, we’ve had a company come in & remove most of the limbs hanging over public property & are awaiting a representative from the forestry service to give us some guidance about the damaged trees. As you are aware, a lot of our trees were severely damaged & some of them may not be salvageable. Also, a tub grinder was brought in from the Sarpy County Landfill to mulch up the trees & limbs and will be coming back for the final pile of debris. Many have asked what we plan on doing with the mulch. We had intended on putting in a walking path in the park area & using mulch for it. Mother Nature apparently decided to help us out & once we decide how much we need, we will post it in the Post Office for homeowners to help themselves to the remaining mulch.
We also discovered that the stadium lights in the ball field have been damaged & are awaiting an estimate as to whether they are repairable or will need to be replaced. Many of the lights have been twisted, lost pieces & wiring has been loosened. Since they are damaged, we are unable to use them at this time. We also lost a large piece of equipment, and damages were found on part of the fence, part of the roof on a storage building, a couple panels of the roof of the pavilion & bleacher seats. In Todd Park, we lost a couple trees so far. And at the fire station, our large American flag was basically shredded from high winds. We are still working with FEMA on these damages & I will update as things progress.

REMINDERS:
This Saturday, June 19, will be the village-wide garage sales, bake sale, maps will be handed out to show where the sales are & carwash at the fire station.
Do not burn without first getting a burn permit.
Do not dump anything but tree debris & grass clippings behind the ballpark. One person has already received a ticket for illegal dumping, don’t be the next.

This is the tub grinder from the Sarpy County landfill that made short work of the trees lost throughout the village.
