BUILDING PERMITS:
Apparently, there is still some confusion as to when a building permit is required. As a rule of thumb, any time you are making changes such as adding on to an existing structure or putting in a storage building, you need a building permit. If you do not have one, the building inspector can stop the project until the proper permits are done and you can be fined twice the amount of the building permit fee. And if you have hired people to do the work, this oversight can be very expensive. Your first step is to contact the Village Clerk’s office first to find out if you need a permit and if you do, she will give you the building permit application. After the proper committees review the application and approve it, you will receive the signed application back to then take to the county zoning office for your permit. You will also need to contact Digger’s Hotline so they can mark all underground cables or sewer & water lines at least a week before any work is done. This applies to everyone in the village.

NEW PARK EQUIPMENT DONATED:
The owners of True Value Hardware in Plattsmouth generously donated a new piece of playground equipment, which can be enjoyed at Todd Park located in Ash Court. Since the piece was assembled and set in place, the children have hardly left it alone. Many thanks for this wonderful gift.

TIDBITS:
If you are interested in some wood ships, there are 2 piles in the in the large park area. You’ll need to bring the proper equipment to be able to move it.

The POC for the Halloween party sponsored by Union’s Fire & Rescue Department has been changed to Gaille @263-1231 or Village Clerk @263-3865. Any donations for the children will be appreciated.
