ATTENTION ALL GHOULS & GOBLINS!
The Union Fire & Rescue Department will host a Halloween party for all the little ghouls & goblins on Saturday Oct. 23. We will meet at the fire station at
2:00 p.m. and parade in costume to the ballpark pavilion. There the costumes will be judged
at 3:00 p.m. & ribbons given out. This includes our 4-legged ghosties too! Dress your dog & maybe they will win a special gift from Tender Paws Grooming Salon! Come & enjoy hotdogs & other goodies. We will have slime, vampire blood & other gruesome treats. If you have any questions or would want to donate anything to the party, call the village office at 263-3865 & leave a message.
ALLTEL CELL ANTENNA:
We have finally been notified that the location of the cell antenna tower has been chosen. It is planned for approximately 1 mile north of Union & should take care of the bad reception and lost calls many cell phone users experience as you drive along highway 75. As soon as we get a date that it will be put up, I’ll let everyone know.
NEW PARK COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN:
We would like to welcome our new Park Committee Chairman. She is Athena Willeford, a local business owner here in Union. She comes with some new & fresh ideas as to what we can do with our park areas. We wish her good luck.
REMINDERS:
The speed limits in the Village are 25 mph on all local streets and 10 mph around both parks. We seem to have some new people in town that aren’t aware of this the clerk’s office has been getting a lot of complaints. Please be careful driving around town as there are a lot of children & we all know they don’t always watch out for traffic.
It is time to winterize your homes. Remove water hoses, be sure your furnaces are working & filters are clean, protect fragile plants & winterize your cars. Don’t forget your outdoor pets either. They need proper shelter, food & fresh water at all times! Frozen water & snow is not adequate as a source of water. Dogs dehydrate very quickly in cold weather and we need to take care of them. If you have any complaints or need assistance, contact the clerk’s office.
