Saturday night was a big party for local children. The Union Fire & Rescue hosted a “Things that go bump in the night” Halloween party at the park pavilion. After the coloring contest and a costume contest winners were announced, everyone enjoyed hotdogs & other goodies. A special thank you goes out to Frankie Williams. She organized and hosted the entire event.
The winners of the coloring contest were:

The winners for the costume contest were:
Scariest costume: Jacob Brazzle
Cutest costume: Brittany Svab
Best homemade costume: Alex Woodard
Funniest costume: Alicia Irwin
Most original: Korri Wolfe

Our website is up and running. You can access it by going to www.unionnebraska.com/village/villageoffice.htm. If you are a member of an organization and would like to advertise coming events, please contact the village clerk. We can also put in other information such as updates on village projects, birthdays, family reunions etc. At this time, she is the link to input articles for the website. We are also in the process of getting together a historical committee. If you are interested, please let Deb know & she’ll put you in touch with the others.

The fire & rescue department would like to thank Tony Tellez and Bob Harrah for training fire & rescue personnel to drive the different vehicles. They take a lot of personal time and energy (not to mention patience) to improve the quality of our volunteers.
